Police say Slidell woman stabbed another lady in the eye

01:43 PM CDT on Monday, September 22, 2008

Mike Sanders / Northshore Bureau

SLIDELL - Police are searching for a Slidell woman for allegedly stabbing another woman in the eye.

Slidell Police

Malika Jackson

Police Captain Kevin Foltz reported that 21-year-old Malika Jackson is wanted for aggravated battery in connection with the stabbing case.

The incident happened shortly after 1:20 a.m. on Friday, September 19, in the 500 block of Beechwood Street in Slidell. Capt. Foltz says that the victim, a 21-year-old Slidell woman, apparently got into an argument with another female and the argument ended.

The female in the argument, according to Capt. Foltz, apparently called some friends and when they arrived, Jackson exited the vehicle with a gun. Capt. Foltz says that Jackson was convinced to put the gun away, but grabbed an unknown item from the vehicle.

Capt. Foltz said that Jackson then got into an argument with the victim and another female and struck the victim in the eye with a closed fist that contained the unknown object. When the victim was taken by friends to a local hospital, medical personnel notified officers.
