Bryant Boudoin was arrested around 10:30 a.m. by the NOPD and U.S. Marshal’s Service.

In late May, McDaniel, owner of Betsy’s Pancake House, was found severely beaten in her Marrero home. She died a few days later.

She suffered a broken hand, broken ribs and her face was severely bruised during the incident. Robbery was believed to be the motive.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said Boudoin had been a suspect for some time and had been interviewed on a couple of occasions.

“We have some evidence that led us to this particular individual,” he said.

According to Normand, JP deputies were trying to find Boudoin and enlisted the aid of other law enforcement agencies.

Normand said that evidence also suggests that another person may have been involved.

Despite early indications that the suspect may have known McDaniel, Normand said that Boudoin did not have any personal connection to the pancake house owner.
