Two men wanted in connection with the shooting of a New Orleans police officer in an alleged looting incident the day after Katrina have been arrested.

NOPD

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 25-year-old Jamil Joyner in Birmingham, Alabama, and 46-year-old Vincent Walker in Phildadelphia.

Both were booked with attempted murder of a police officer.

The NOPD said the two men were looting an Algiers convenience store on August 30, 2006 when officers arrived on the scene. Officer Kevin Thomas was shot in the head in the confrontation.

A recent tip to Crimestoppers led to the arrests.
