Spillway bridge closed in one lane causes traffic; eastbound lane to be closed Sunday03:39 PM CDT on Saturday, June 28, 2008A bridge inspection caused heavy traffic delays Saturday and the DOTD is planning to close the other lane on the Bonnet Carre Spillway Sunday for inspection, possibly causing similar traffic woes.
The 12-mile Bridge over the Bonnet Carre Spillway was closed to one lane westbound Saturday for an inspection, causing heavy traffic.
The LADOTD was performing an inspection of the bridge and are scheduling to close the eastbound lane Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to the LADOTD, the inspection Sunday will be done if weather permits. |
