NEW ORLEANS – The popular crime show NCIS: New Orleans debuts its third season Tuesday night at a new time (9 p.m., WWL-TV) with a show about federal agencies tracking a sniper targeting crowded events in the city.
The show is a successful edition of the NCIS line of shows and was the 6th most popular show in prime time last TV season – 4th if you discount NFL football.
It seems the formula of the crime series and the fascination with the city of New Orleans have combined in a winning formula.
The lead in the show, Scott Bakula, says the cast and crew have come to love the city that has adopted them as well.
“There’s no place where I’ve ever been where people are constantly, constantly saying, ‘how do you like the city? How are you liking New Orleans?’”
Bakula says the crew has a similar feeling for the city. In an interview with CBS News he talked about how the city helps encompass both his love for music and acting.
“Considering Katrina and the subsequent years and the rebuilding … everyone is rooting for New Orleans and we’re no different.”
