GRETNA, La. (AP) -- The Krewe of Argus says New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan will ride as Grand Marshal in its March 4 parade.

The New Orleans Advocate reports Argus traditionally rolls along the Metairie parade route on Mardi Gras day, followed by truck floats in Elks Jeffersonians and the Krewe of Jefferson.

This past season was Ryan's first with the Saints, and he resurrected a defense that finished last in the NFL in 2012. Ryan led the unit to a No. 4 ranking as the team advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs.

Jefferson Parish Council Chairman Elton LaGasse will reign as king of Argus, alongside Diana Lynn Netterville, who is this year's queen.
