Tucks is known for its irrevent spirit and unique style. This year’s parade, featuring some 1,000 members, should be no different. The krewe was founded in 1969 by local college students, who named their krewe after the familiar Robin Hood character, whose name also graced the popular Uptown bar where the idea for the krewe was hatched. This year’s theme is Tucks Lives the Sportin’ Life, featuring 30 floats. Look for the signature “toilet seat” float – now an icon of this irreverent krewe, and see if you can catch a toilet brush and their signature toilet paper, two of their clever throws.
