Drew Brees (Bacchus XLII) will be tough to top this year, but Andy Garcia will try. Either way, as the granddaddy of the super krewes, Bacchus holds onto its important place in history, as a parade designed as an “event,” to bring tourists to the city, and national attention to the celebration. Celebrity monarch aside, some of the signature floats remain sentimental favorites: the Kong family, the Bacchagator, the Bacchasauras and Bacchawhoppa.
