Backstreet Cultural Museum keeps culture of Mardi Gras Indians alive

Robert Francis said on holidays the Indians parade in their own neighborhoods. “Your best Mardi Gras is in these neighborhoods,” he said.
This suit here was actually crafted and worn by a woman, Gwendolyn Gaines, the 2002 second queen of Golden Blades.
