Backstreet Cultural Museum keeps culture of Mardi Gras Indians alive

If you'd like to visit the Backbeat Cultural Museum, head to 1116 Saint Claude Avenue. The hours are listed as Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but like the Indians themselves, those times are sporadic. You'd be best off calling the museum before making the trip at (504) 522-4806 to make sure they're open.
