Robert said on average the suits weigh between 100 to 120 pounds. He said Uptown Mardi Gras Indian suits are usually lighter, because they aren’t 3-D like their Downtown counterparts.
Here, you see just how 3-D some of the suits can be. These hawks, made out of cardboard, stick out of the suit – something you don’t see with Uptown Indians, Robert said.
