One of Jefferson Parish's largest and most popular parades, the Krewe of Caesar drew big crowds to the Metairie parade route Saturday night.
For its 32nd parade, Caesar's floats carried out the theme "When I Grow Up," welcoming the Smurfs as grand marshals.
The 600 krewe members showered the crowds with beads, cups and lots of specialty throws.
The parade's captain, emperor and empress and maids donned elaborate costumes featuring feathery headpieces created by the Colombo family, who have designed the krewe's costumes for decades.
