Titled “Fire,” this float was also re-covered with a new tin-foil base for this year’s parade.

Pustanio said about every five years a float must get a new tin-foil base due to wear and tear.

The Krewe of Mid-City presents the only Mardi Gras parade to have tin-foil designs and not paper mache, giving it a unique flavor. We took a tour of their den to get a look at this one-of-a-kind parade.
