There is no better time in Louisiana than the spring and fall festival seasons.

On Thursday, the Alligator Festival gets underway in St. Charles Parish.

There will be rides, crafts, games and of course great food, with many gator recipes on the menu.

Julie Hebert of the St. Charles Parish Rotary Club, Quinn Landry of St. Charles Parish Hospital and Chef Jody Horn were in the studio with a preview of the event.

The 33rd annual fest begins Thursday at 6 p.m. and runs until Sunday at the Westbank Bridge Park in Luling, under the Hale Boggs Bridge.

All proceeds from the festival benefit the St. Charles Parish Rotary Club and its charitable projects.
