NEW ORLEANS - Mardi Gras is long over, but that doesn't mean the 610 Stompers have hung up their red satin jackets for the year.

On Saturday, wear your favorite 80s work out attire and join the 610 Stompers for their third annual Ball Crawl through Uptown New Orleans.

You'll learn their signature dance routines, and it's all for a good cause.

The event benefits the Roots of Music and helps its marching band of local children perform in the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade in California.

610 Stomper David Jackson, along with members of the Roots of Music Marching Band, filled us in.

The Ball Crawl - Uptown Throwdown is from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. at various locations.

For more on the event or on how to pre-register for the event, visit http://610ballcrawl.eventbrite.com/.

We were lucky enough to get a performance from the group in the WWL-TV studio on Thursday.
