Food and fundraising in South Louisiana goes hand-in-hand. Joshua Butler Elementary School is looking to raise some cash of its own with their second annual BBQ Cookoff.

Butler Elementary Principal Denise Rehm joined us with details. Chef Emmett Dufresne of Emmett's Fine Meat and Seafood cooked for us in the kitchen.

The cookoff is Sunday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westwego Farmer's Market.

Ten teams will compete against one another.

It is $10 for all you can eat BBQ for people over the age of 10.

All of the proceeds will benefit Joshua Butler Elementary - it is integrating more technology in the classroom, as well as their ballroom dance.

The ballroom dancers from the school performed for us on Monday.
