Inaugural Bogalusa festival honors native, Professor Longhair

Professor Longhair, born Henry Roeland Byrd in Bogalusa, will recieve a special tribute Saturday at the inaugural Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival.

Malinda White and Al Daquin were in the studio with more information on this fun event, which will include a star-studded music lineup.

The festival is is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the brand new Performance Pavilion in Cassidy Park on Willis Avenue.

The tribute to Professor Longhair is from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Admission is $10, and children 12 and under get in free.
