NEW ORLEANS - The revival of the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" was nominated in two categories at 2012's Tony Awards.

The musical tells the story of the last seven days of Jesus' life, as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.

Beginning Thursday, you can see a local production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" starring Becky Allen as King Herod.

Allen and Marisa Guillie joined us Wednesday with more on the show,  which also doubles as a fundraiser.

The show opens at 8 a.m. at the Little Farms United Church of Christ on Sauve Road in River Ridge.

The show runs through Sunday and then again from July 19 through July 22.

For more information and tickets, call 756-5329.

We were lucky to hear a preview of the show in the studio!
