NEW ORLEANS - Channel 4 and the Tipitina's Foundation are committed to keeping the music alive in New Orleans by supporting young musicians.

The foundation will host its "Rhythm & Blues 5K Run" to benefit its mission.

Participants will run to the beat of local school marching bands, playing instruments donated by the foundation.

One of the featured bands, Sophie B. Wright Charter School's "Da Wright Way" headed by Desmian Barnes, and Emily Menard from the Tipitina's Foundation were in the studio with the details on the run.

The run is September 29 and begins at Tipitina's Uptown on Napoleon Avenue.

Race day registration opens at 4 p.m. and the race begins at 5 p.m.

For more information or to register online, visit http://www.runnotc.org/races/2012/rhythm.html.

We got to hear a preview of some of the music you'll hear on the route from "Da Wright Way."
