NEW ORLEANS - If you've ever been to a second line parade, you've seen the smartly dressed ladies dancing.
As members of female social aid and pleasure clubs, they continue a unique and rich aspect of the local culture that complements the traditional all male Mardi Gras Indian tribes.
And for the first time, a public competition will be held to choose the best second line dancers in the city.
Producer and Indian tribe war chief, Juan Pardo, was in the studio with more information on the second line show down.
"Battle of the Footwork - Ladies Edition" starts at 9 p.m. on Saturday at Tipitina's Uptown. For more information, call 261-7150. You can order your tickets on line at ticketweb.com.
WWL-TV was fortunate to be entertained by Eric Gordon and the Lazy Boys on Monday morning.
