Sugar Fest celebrates impact in St. Bernard with music, crafts, bake-off

The impact of sugar in St. Bernard Parish will be celebrated with music, crafts and a bake-off culinary competition.

The Old Arabi Sugar Festival is Sunday afternoon.

St. Bernard Councilman and Festival Chairman Ray Lauga, festival Committee Member Barry Lemoine and festival performer Irene Sage were in the studio with more information.

The fourth annual festival is from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on the grounds of LeBeau Plantation at 7201 Bienvenue St.

The Irene Sage Band performed in the studio on Wednesday.
