Walk for Education raises money for low-income and minority students

NEW ORLEANS - Raising scholarship money for low-income and minority students in Louisiana is the objective of the United Negro College Fund's 25th annual Walk for Education.

Lajuana Chenier, the regional development director for UNCF, and Louis Colin, the co-chair of the 2012 walk, were in the studio with more information.

The walk for education is Saturday at Audubon Park.

On-site registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Early registration fees are $30 for adults and $15 for children.

Participants can walk, run or bike the 5K course through scenic Audubon Park.
