They dress in a throwback costume with tube socks and gilded tennis shoes. They dance in parades from here to New York city. And they support causes near and dear to their hearts.
They are the 610 Stompers and they are holding their fourth annual Ball Crawl this weekend to help former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason, who is suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
610 Stomper David Jackson spoke with WWLTV’s Eric Paulsen about the event and how you, too, can have a ball for a cause.
The ball crawl, titled "A Streetcar Named Da Fire," is Saturday afternoon from 1-10 p.m., making stops at several Uptown bars and restaurants.
The starting point is Grit's Bar on Lyons Street.
You can pre-register Wednesday at Squeal on Oak Street, Thursday at Fat Harry's on St. Charles Avenue and Friday at Le Bon Temps on Magazine, all during happy hour from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
