NEW ORLEANS - Xavier Prep's class of 1977 wants you to dig into your closet, find those platform shoes, and head on down the soul train line.

The group is hosting its "Back to the '70s" dance and silent auction to benefit their alma mater.

Chairperson Sharon Fortier-Barnes, Xavier Prep President Joseph Peychaud and Xavier Prep President Cheryllyn Branch were in the studio with more details.

The event is also part of the class of 1977's 35th reunion

The dance and silent auction is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The event is being held at the Drexel Center on the school's campus.
