Counteracting the effects of coastal erosion is crucial for maintaining Louisiana's seafood industry and saving coastal communities.

One of the plans being offered to restore the wetlands comes from the Save Louisiana Coalition, which is holding an event this weekend, the Battle for the Bayou Bash.

Chef Mark Chapotel of the Acme Oyster House, and Captain George Ricks, President of the Save Louisiana Coalition, and Kerri Callais-Lubrano join the Eyewitness Morning News to talk about the Battle for the Bayou Bash and why saving Louisiana’s coast is so important.

The Battle for the Bayou Bash will be held in the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center on West Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette, October 5th from 6 pm until 10 pm, and for more information, call (504) 416-9853.
