NEW ORLEANS - The Second Congressional District now stretches from Orleans Parish all the way up-river to Baton Rouge, which is a first for the district.

In all, five candidates are in the race.

Democrat Gary Landrieu was in the studio on Tuesday.

Tuesday is the last day to register to vote for the November 6 election in Louisiana.

Check your voter registration status.

Early voting starts October 23 across Louisiana.

Citizens have a chance to hear from candidates in the congressional, judicial, city council and Orleans Parish School Board elections at a forum and endorsement meeting Tuesday. The event is sponsored by the Independent Women's Organization of Greater New Orleans. It begins at 6 p.m. in the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities Center at 938 Lafayette St.
