Critics have blasted the New Orleans Police Department recently for a lack of officers on the street.
This weekend NOPD is preparing to bulk up their forces with a special recruitment event.
Police Chief Ronal Serpas and Nadiyah Morris of the Office of Workforce Development, join the Eyewitness Morning News to discuss this weekend’s recruitment event and why it is important to get more NOPD officers on the ground in the city of New Orleans.
The recruitment event is this Saturday at Langston Hughes Academy in the 3500 block of Trafalgar Street. Doors open at 10 a.m. and it all wraps up at 2 p.m. Job seekers are encouraged to pre-register by calling 311 or by clicking here to get to their registration website.
