It was about a year and a half ago that an LSU cheerleading coach became a quadriplegic.
Chico Garcia, who was 29-years-old at the time, was in a boating accident on the Diversion Canal near the Amite River.
Chico had spent most of his life as an athlete. He was an LSU cheerleader himself. But, the accident left him unable to walk or even move his arms.
He hasn't let that stop him from motivating others.
Even in his wheelchair, he continues to coach at LSU and it's amazing to see how the community has gathered in support of Chico.
Chico joined us over the phone.
The Cheering for Chico golf tournament is Monday morning in Baton Rouge.
