For the past three years, Army Corps of Engineers Col. Ed Fleming has been the face for flood protection and high-water events in the metro area.

He has handled the flood of 2011, the drought of 2012 and Hurricane Isaac but in just over a week, he's leaving New Orleans for a new assignment.

Col. Fleming spoke with Eric Paulsen on the Eyewitness Morning News about his service and the area’s hurricane protection.
