NEW ORLEANS - In five weeks, voters across the nation will go to the polls to elect the next president of the United States, and there's a 50 percent chance that he could be the first Mormon in the oval office.

Republican candidate Mitt Romney has brought the Mormon religion to the forefront.

For those who are unfamiliar with the practice, we hoped to demystify Mormonism with two of our guests on Tuesday: Gregory Stock, president of the New Orleans stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and Dr. Tom Ryan, member of the Loyola Institute for Ministry.

"First Tuesdays: Spirituality in the City" is on the first Tuesday of October, November and December.

All the presentations begin at 12:30 p.m. in Lenes Hall at 130 Baronne Street in the Parish Center of Jesuit Church. There is a simple lunch at 12:15 p.m.
