NEW ORLEANS - Neurofibromatosis, or NF, is a set of three distinct genetic conditions that cause tumors to form all over the outside and the inside of the body.
NF often causes blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and cancer in some cases.
Currently, there are no treatments and there is no cure.
The Children's Tumor Foundation, who's goal is to end neurofibromatosis through research, is holding their annual forum in New Orleans.
Karen Weissbecker, the co-director of the NF clinic at Children's Hospital, and Jill Markland, an NF mom, gave us more information on the forum.
