NEW ORLEANS, La. -- You may have money waiting to be claimed in the State Treasury, and this time the funds are connected to the Louisiana Citizens assessment.

Last year, property owners left $240 million unclaimed, and Insurance Commissioner James Donelon wants to get that money back in residents’ hands this year, so he joins the Eyewitness Morning News with more on what people should do to claim their money.

To see if you have money waiting to be claimed, call the State Department of Insurance at 1 (800) 259-5300 or go to their website by clicking here.
