NEW ORLEANS - The new face of the Essence Music Festival for 2012 is the new general manager for Essence Communications, Joy Collins.
The annual celebration prepares to kick off Thursday with the new Youth Empowerment Experience, which adds a fourth day to the festival.
The event features a star-studded line up of entertainers from just about every genre of music

The festival is Thursday through Sunday, and starts with the youth concert in the Superdome on Thursday night.
