NEW ORLEANS - Fibromyalgia is a painful and life altering disease that affects more than 5 million people.
There is no cure, but there are medications available to control symptoms.
And there is help from a new local support group.
Joy Levine-Peterson is a Fibromyalgia patient, but also a member of the Faith, Hope and Fibromyalgia Support Group.
She joined the Eyewitness Morning News team Tuesday to tell us about this new group.
The group will hold an awareness and fundraising event on October 1 starting at 11 a.m. in the Freret Street Neighborhood Center.
