Local independent film makers who want or need to learn about securing funding for a project, staying within the law and making contacts will want to clear their schedules for “Making the Deal,” a day-long seminar being offered by the New Orleans Video Access Center.

Veteran filmmakers and attorneys will conduct the seminar, which will be followed by a networking event where filmmakers can discuss their projects.

Ashley Charbonnet, the director of programs at NOVAC, and Robert Wollfarth of the Baker-Donelson Law Firm, a presenter at the workshop, spoke with Mike Hoss about the seminar.

This month’s seminar will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by the networking event, at Loyola’s law school.

The fee for the seminar is $75 for NOVAC members and $125 for non-members. For more information or to register, you can call 940-5780
