New Orleans has a lot of dishes with a rich and delicious history, and the ones the Eyewitness News highlights today go back 200 years.
They're on the menu for General Pakenham's Final Supper, a kickoff event for the year long Battle of New Orleans Bicentennial Celebration, a five-course dinner that commemorates the battle, and will feature special appearances by British General Edward Pakenham and General Andrew Jackson, or at least their look-alikes.
Joining the Eyewitness News to preview the dinner is Chef Agnes Bellet of the Hotel Mazarin in the French Quarter, and Marc Becker of the New Orleans Hotel Collection.
To get a taste of General Pakenham's Final Supper, be at the Hotel Mazarin, 730 Bienville Street, on Thursday, January 9. The evening will start with cocktails in the courtyard at 6:30 p.m. and the five-course dinner will begin at 7:30. For more information or to make reservations, call (504) 200-3113.
