NEW ORLEANS - Six organizations that have worked to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina are hosting a celebration and competition for the community.
Build Now, the St. Bernard Project, Make It Right, Project Homecoming and Project Home Again have helped more than 200 New Orleans area families return in 2012.
You can make sure they do that and then some next year by building your own gingerbread house.
Jaclyn Hill, executive director of Build Now, was in the studio with more information.
There's still time to get tickets to take part in the Build Now gingerbread house building competition.
It's Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the New Orleans Healing Center on St. Claude Avenue.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $20 at the door.
For more information, call 324-3964.
