NEW ORLEANS - In May 2012, the Louisiana legislature unanimously voted to designate March as Irish American Heritage Month.

Along with all the traditional St. Patrick's Day events, Irish dignitaries will be in New Orleans for the presentation of the "Hibernian of the Year Award."

Receiving the award will be Judge Jim McKay, who joined us Friday morning with more information on Irish American Heritage Month. He was accompanied by Louisiana Senator Edwin Murray and Irish Network New Orleans President Adrian D'Arcy.
