A popular way for families to ring in the new year, the Louisiana Children's Museum's New Year's Eve Kids' Countdown features a brass band, a colorful confetti toss and balloon release, and you won't have to wait until midnight to enjoy all the fun.

Spokesperson Michal Eerder joins the Eyewitness Morning News with details on what to expect this year.

The fun begins at 9:30 Tuesday morning and continues through 2:30 in the afternoon, with the Lagniappe Brass Band playing at 11:00 a.m. and the big confetti drop and balloon release at noon. Special event admission is $10 and pre-registration is recommended. To find out more, or to pre-register, click here.
