Some local parading Krewes have organized a carnival for a cause, to help the New Orleans Police Department.

Krewes for Kops is holding a benefit to purchase a firearms simulator.

Joining the Eyewitness Morning News is CEO of the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation, Melanie Talia and NOPD Firearms Specialist, Sergeant Chris Landry.

The Krewes for Kops benefit will take place on Thursday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Rock n' Bowl. There will be plenty of food, a silent auction, prizes, bowling and music. Advance tickets are $35 and $40 at the door.
