It was just about a year ago that Hurricane Isaac stalled along the Louisiana coast bringing rain for days, and pushing water from the Gulf of Mexico through Lake Pontchartrain and into the neighborhoods in LaPlace.

And now a new restaurant is opening up in the wake of the area’s recovery.

Charles Stewart, owner of LaPlace Southern Kitchen joins the Eyewitness Morning News to discuss his newly opened restaurant and why it is important to him to open in LaPlace. Stewart brings with him General Manager, Trenell Muse and Chef Jodie Clay.
