ST. JOHN PARISH, La. - Denise Addison’s LaPlace home was flooded during Hurricane Isaac, and after the storm, with congestive heart failure and diabetes, Addison needed a place to live.

The Addison Family moved into their gutted home a month after Isaac and toughed it out.

The family had some insurance, but it didn't cover the total renovation, until a friend told her about the Volunteer Reception Center.

Volunteers worked on the home from March to May, and her family was finally able to move back in at the end of May.
