NEW ORLEANS - Sometimes it's called baby fat, but obesity is causing serious, sometimes life threatening, illnesses in children.
A recent health study ranked U.S. states according to the percent of children within the population who are considered obese.
Mississippi and Louisiana top the list of states with the most obese children.
Meghan Brown, a public health specialist with the LSU Health Sciences Center, was in the studio to give us more information on the results of this study. She also talked about the center's "Trim Teens Study."
