Mackie Shilstone joins the Eyewitness Morning News to talk about foods that improve concentration.

5 foods to improve concentration:

Avocados: monounsaturated fats in the avocado can help reduce plaque build-up, which improves brain cell activity.

Yogurt: can help boost the effects of the amino acids tyrosine, which produces the brain neurotransmitters dopamine and noradrenalin.

Coffee/tea/chocolate: improves concentration by working with the amino acid l-thiamine to increase alertness.

Salmon: has a high concentration of omega 3, especially DHA, which improves cognitive function.

Blueberries: protect the brain from the effects of free radical damage, which is associated with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Mackie has much more information on this topic and others on his website.
