NEW ORLEANS - According to some studies, as many as 96 percent of Americans support organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

But the number of people who actually sign up to become donors, unfortunately isn't as high.

In the United States right now, there are more than 110,000 people waiting for a transplant.

But the only way they can get that life saving organ is for people to sign up.

Cheryl McGee-Hills, of the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, Gary Leige, who has been on the waiting list for a heart transplant for seven months, and Vanessa Leige, Gary Leige's wife, were in the studio with more information.
