The people of St. Tammany Parish have always enjoyed the fishing opportunities available to them on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain, as well as on inland waterways, and now there's a new event that turns their pastime into a day of fun for everyone.

It's the first annual Redfishtival, a fishing rodeo and festival combined, and Christina Cooper joins the Eyewitness Morning News from the Northshore Harbor Center with details, along with Sous Chef Ambrosia Otto, from the new Jubilee Restaurant in Mandeville. She’s filling in for Executive Chef Tory Stewart.

The first annual Redfishtival is Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6, at the Northshore Harbor Center, 100 Harbor Center Boulevard in Slidell. The gates open at noon and tickets are just $5 for adults, with no charge for children aged 12 and under.
