Right now gulf oysters are at their peak and this weekend is the perfect opportunity to try dozens of different oyster dishes, at the Pass Christian Oyster Festival.

Chef Patrick Heim and festival spokesperson Renee Brooks join the Eyewitness Morning News to prepare some tasty oyster dishes and to talk more about the Pass Christian Oyster Festival.

The fun starts on "Oyster Eve" Friday night when the first annual "Oyster Throw Down" will take place. Local chefs, including Chef Heim, will compete for top oyster, and you can try all the dishes and vote for your favorite. The main festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday with plenty of food, fair rides and activities for kids, plus live music.
