Plaquemines Parish working on two projects for hurricane protection

Though months away from the start of the hurricane season, Plaquemines Parish is about to begin two projects designed to provide better protection from storms.

One is a long term solution, slowing down wetlands loss through Christmas tree recycling.

The other is an attempt to provide protection, as soon as possible, with the construction of a federal levee.

President Billy Nungesser was in the studio to tell us about both.
