Though months away from the start of the hurricane season, Plaquemines Parish is about to begin two projects designed to provide better protection from storms.
One is a long term solution, slowing down wetlands loss through Christmas tree recycling.
The other is an attempt to provide protection, as soon as possible, with the construction of a federal levee.
