The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is the first real sign of spring for many of us who live in Southeast Louisiana, and there was concern the hard winter could have seriously damaged this year's harvest, but the festival will go on as expected this weekend.

Joining the Eyewitness Morning News in Frank’s Kitchen with details of this year’s Strawberry Festival are the 2014 chairman, Amanda Hebert, the Strawberry King Wayne "Richie" Howes, the Strawberry Queen Gabrielle Palma, and spokesperson Cheri Barnes.

The 43rd annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival gets going this weekend, Friday through Sunday, in Memorial Park. For more information, call 1-800-917-7045 or click here to visit their website.
