NEW ORLEANS - The election for the Orleans Parish School Board is November 6.

An important issue in this election is if schools within the district will transition from state control to local control.

You'll get a chance to hear form the candidates in a special forum Tuesday night.

John Ayers, the executive director of The Cowen Institute for Public Education Initiatives, and Janet Bean, the education policy director for Citizens For 1 Greater New Orleans, were in the studio with more information.

If you want to learn more about the candidates running for Orleans Parish School Board, you might want to check out the forum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of New Orleans on Canal Boulevard.
